I've attended Camp4ever for the last three summers as support staff (aka technical/driving crew) for two years, and for my 3rd year as a counselor. I cannot even tell you how amazing this camp is! It is part of an organization that helps out families with a seriously ill parent (or families that have recently lost a sick parent). This camp invites 8-18 year old girls and boys to a two week overnight camp that gives them the chance to take a break from their lives. For the older kids in the family, its a chance for them to be a kid and not have to deal with cooking/taking care of siblings/laundry and lets them have the spotlight for once. The same applies for the younger kids, and specifically for them it is soooo important that they have the individualized attention they are lacking. Some of the younger kids are not even living at home - and are living with aunts and uncles or grandparents. This camp provides a 1 on 1 camper-counselor ratio, which allows for this individualized attention for each camper, and allows each child to develop a relationship that will last long after camp. Unfortunately, I have been present at multiple shiva houses of camp families, and at each one, some of their biggest support groups/systems there are their counselors or even other campers they met in camp that have been through similar tzaros.
I knew a couple of campers going in my first year, and seeing how much this camp transformed them was so inspiring! These girls came out confident with a zest for life, knowing that they had gained an entire support network that they'd keep for the rest of their lives.
Unfortunately, in this day and age there are MANY families living with a seriously ill parent. Last year, the camp was unable to invite all of the campers that deserved to come. The head of camp spoke last year and said that they compile 3 lists of kids to invite - those from absolutely desperate situtations, those from very tough situations, and those with a more managed situation that still deserve to come. I was shocked when he said that after reaccepting those that needed to come back from the previous year, they did not even have enough spots to accept all of the kids from the 1st list. With your help, I hope they will be able to include all of those kids this year, along with those from the other two lists.

Now more than ever, these kids need a break from their lives, especially because they've been home dealing with their life situations for months. Usually, their only normal part of life is school, but now that has been taken away too. BH, we are going to be running even with COVID-19, we're just going to be extra careful about how everything happens.

Below is the official description, but please PLEASE consider donating even if it's only a little maaser that you have to spare:

I am raising money for Camp4ever!, an extraordinary overnight camp that gives children with a seriously ill mother or father a vacation from sickness. This unique camp program gives these kids a reprieve from a challenging home situation, restores their spirits and renews their strength to persevere!

Being closely involved with Chai4ever, I can only begin to tell you how hard it is on these kids and what a big deal camp would be for them.

My objective is to raise at least $1,500 to enable these children to go to camp, and I hope you will help me reach this goal. All donations are 100% tax-deductible.

Please respond generously and  click this link - http://www.raise4ever.org/menkenms   to go to my personal fundraising page and donate, or make out a check to Chai4ever and mail it to me at 3207 Pinkney Rd, Baltimore, MD 21215.
