Hi everyone! We are so honored and excited to have recently joined the Young Leadership Board of Chai4ever. Chai4ever is an extraordinary non-profit organization that helps to mitigate the terrifying impact of parental illness on children whose families have reached out for help.
As you may know I lost my mother, Diana, a"h, to a catastrophic illness. She was diagnosed when both my brother and I were teenagers. I only wish Chai4ever was around then to help both myself and the rest of my family through that incredibly difficult time. That being said, we are motivated to help other children going through these difficult times and hope you will join our effort!
Chai4ever takes a holistic stance to setting these families on a path towards healing and thriving. The social work team at Chai4ever provides tailored assistance to each family to help them maintain a stable routine including the arrangement of meals, housekeeping assistance, transportation to medical appointments, insurance advocacy, school collaboration, homework helpers, and counseling. Chai4ever also arranges family recreational events and holiday get-togethers to create long-lasting memories and build a community of people who face similar challenges.
Additionally, Chai4ever has an overnight travel camp that many of these children attend - the common denominator among all of them is that they have sick parents. Camp is a place where they can truly be kids and escape the burden of seeing their moms or dads suffering.
Unfortunately, the caseload at Chai4ever continues to expand as more families continue to reach out for help as parents are given serious prognoses. Our objective is to raise at least $5,000 to support Chai4ever. We hope you will help us reach this goal.
